Black Friday

Online poker is tougher than live poker...too bad I live so far from a casino...I still make the 2 1/2 hr drive every week or two anyway, but I play online daily...Black Friday has been both a curse & a blessing for me... Too many grinders on Tilt & Stars that were playing a fairly solid game, even at lower stakes...grinders that were using all sorts of tracking software/ sharkscope, etc...extremes that I've refused to go to...makes it less like poker to me...I also don't like grinding more than 4 tables at once. Enter Minted Poker... super soft competition & growing player base (thanks to Black Friday!) 40% rakeback too!!! Every active online player in US needs to check them out!!! US poker players, get 40% rakeback online at Minted Poker.

FullTilt Steps

Well...I now have a step 1,2,3, &4 ticket...I've read where you need at least 10 tickets per level before going on to the next...I guess that's what I'll do now, before attempting to go further with the step 3 or 4...try to get 10 step 2's & turn them into 3's etc...I actually think I might pull this off...granted, the play will get better with step 5-7, but the closer we get to the WSOP, the more people will be playing these, & a lot of fish will be buying in at higher levels, rather than working their way up the least that's what I'm hoping...JB

Amateurs work at it till they get it right, Professionals work at it till they can't get it wrong.Work the solution not the Problem. author unknown,
but my thanks to my friend Steve Irwin...who's blog I borrowed that quote from...definitely a good approach to poker...& life.

Poker Obsession/Evolution

What can I say, I've came a long way, but still have a long way to go... I've been obsessed with the game of no limit Texas Holdem for the last 4 years... I began playing online primarily at pokerstars & fulltilt...of course I had the typical lose-redeposit, lose-redeposit, break-even, finally show a little profit learning curve that most everyone goes through... I've forsaken most of my old hobbies, preferring to become an ardent student of poker... I prefer tournament formats, have played a ton of sitngo's, became involved with, where Sean Grady helped me hone my heads up poker skills to that of a professional...I've finally started playing live in the last 6 months & believe it or not, find it much easier than online poker! I did very well in my 1st ever WSOP circuit events...ITM in the 1st one & 4 people from the $ in the 2nd. ( I could've squeaked into the $ in the 2nd one, but I was swinging for the fence...
I own & have read 80+ poker books...most of them about NLHE tournament play... 1 book finally came along that made tons of difference, giving me a cutting edge advantage over a great number of my opponents...Mitchell Cogerts 101 Winning Moves...After reading it, I've won 3 of the last 4 live games I've been sucked out on in the 4th...these are small 1-3 table live tournaments with a 10k starting stack & 20 min blinds...
I'm loving the new Fulltilt Step going to attempt a WSOP pkg win, but shorter term, they are a dandy way to get to higher priced tourneys with only a $3 initial investment...step 3 & up, you can use your step ticket to buy in to any tournament or sitngo of equal value!!! All for now. JB
